HULK HOGAN TO DO AN O.J. SIMPSON ON EX-WIFE
April 16 2009
Clearwater, FL – There was a time when Hulk Hogan was on top of the world. Without a doubt Hogan is the biggest star that has ever stepped foot in the squared circle and his success through the 1980’s made him one of the most recognizable faces in the world. Hogan translated that success to equal glory in the lucrative straight-to-video market, low rent television, and various as-seen-on-TV products. All
that success though couldn’t lead Hogan to success in the romance department and now the once ubiquitous superstar is publicly discussing plans to murder his wife.
Like Hogan, O.J. Simpson parlayed a successful athletic career to one in movies and celebrity endorsements. His career was abruptly cut short with the brutal murder of his ex-wife and her friend for which Simpson stood trial. Though found innocent, Simpson’s career never recovered. It now appears that Hogan is interested in following that career path with not only an understanding of Simpson’s actions, but an active pursuit of the path that the Juice cut with a giant knife.
“You live half a mile from the 20,000-square-foot home you can't go to anymore, you're driving through downtown Clearwater and see a 19-year-old boy driving your (SUV) Escalade, and you know that a 19-year-old boy is sleeping in your bed, with your wife... I totally understand O.J. I get it,” said Hogan in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine. “I could have turned everything into a crime scene like O.J., cutting everybody's throat.”
Hogan has since retracted the statement which will be published in this Friday’s edition of the magazine but many believe that his loose lips will severely damage his ability to follow that path that Simpson trail blazed.
“Murder is still frowned upon in most of the world, including Florida, and because of that openly talking about killing people is usually
considered a bad move. Generally speaking openly talking about murdering someone, especially in a nationally distributed magazine hurts your chances of successfully pulling off a not guilty judgement,” said Scrape TV Crime analyst Willard Weston. “The thing that O.J. did was constantly proclaim his innocence and that’s usually the best way to avoid going to jail, that and having really good lawyers and the luck to have a lousy police investigation. Simpson didn’t talk about murdering his wife until after the trial and that is the best way to go about it.”
Hulk Hogan’s wife, Linda Bollea, condemned the remarks through her lawyer. The hope is that by coming out against the statements Hogan will be less likely to slice her throat.
“The issue may be endemic to Hogan’s personality. His life has revolved around wrestling and the wrestling persona and there has never been anyone better at it than him. The thing with
wrestling is that it is 99 per cent talk and 1 per cent action. Simpson had an edge here because talking about an opponent before the game in football is detrimental, whereas in wrestling it’s protocol,” said Scrape TV Sports analyst Mark Marvins. “By this stage in his life it has to ingrained in his mind set to talk the game before actually playing it and that will likely hurt his progress in this stage of his life. It would be hard to believe that any jury wouldn’t find him guilty after he made such a provocative statement and so he may have to abandon those career plans entirely. Generally speaking though, murder has
never been the logical career path for ex-athletes and actors. The opposite is sometimes true, but there really isn’t a case where that has ended up being a lucrative career choice.”
Reportedly Hogan’s lawyers and agents are making an active effort to quiet him over future career plans though they are apparently still planning some type of major crime spree that may or may not involve bodily harm. O.J. Simpson is reportedly ‘thrilled’ by the tribute.
